Connect your phone wirelessly to your vehicle

We’ll show you how to pair your phone to your new Cadillac vehicle.

Before you start

There are a few things you need to do in order to make sure your phone can connect and interact with your vehicle’s touchscreen and audio system.

1. First, check your phone compatibility to make sure you can use Bluetooth

2. Once you’ve confirmed your phone’s compatibility, turn on your vehicle but keep it in Park

3. Touch the phone icon on your vehicle’s touchscreen and tap Connect Phone and then Add Phone. Your vehicle’s brand name will appear. After that, make sure that your phone has Bluetooth turned on

The exact process you need to follow may differ depending on the type of phone and the software it uses.

Be sure to read your phone’s manual if you have any questions.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to follow a different process if you try to pair a second phone with your vehicle.
For help doing that, you can read these directions.

Pairing your phone

You can connect your phone to Bluetooth through voice recognition or by pressing the controls on your touchscreen.

1. To use voice recognition, press the Push to Talk button. After the tone, say “Pair phone.” To use your vehicle’s touchscreen, select > Pair Device.

Then start the pairing process on the phone.
Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings,
Select the name shown on the touchscreen.

2. Confirm the codes that appear on the touchscreen and the phone.

3. When the pairing is complete, the phone screen will be displayed. Your phone book may be downloaded depending on the phone.

Tips

There are a couple things you can do if your vehicle won’t recognize your phone or if a previously paired phone won’t pair:

1. First, restart your phone and reconnect to Bluetooth in your vehicle.

2. If that doesn’t work, you may need to delete your phone from your vehicle’s “Paired Bluetooth Devices” list and pair it again.

How to delete and reconnect your phone to Bluetooth

1. Delete your phone from your vehicle’s “Paired Bluetooth Devices” list. Delete your vehicle’s touchscreen name from your phone’s list of paired devices.

2. Turn off your vehicle. Open and close your vehicle door and wait two minutes before turning your vehicle back on.

3. Pair your phone again by following the initial pairing instructions.

Can’t make a Bluetooth call

There are several factors that may affect your Bluetooth call performance. A problem may be caused by your phone’s or vehicle touchscreen’s software. Be sure you have the latest software version for your phone. If you’ve updated your phone and are still experiencing Bluetooth calling concerns, try deleting your phone’s pairing and then pairing it again. Experiencing issues after phone’s software update

If you’re having problems right after a software update, we recommend deleting your phone from your vehicle’s “Paired Bluetooth Devices” list and then deleting your vehicle from your phone’s “Paired Bluetooth Devices” list. Turn your vehicle off. Exit the vehicle and close the door. Wait two minutes, then restart your phone and pair it with your vehicle again. Phone won’t automatically connect

Select the phone or vehicle you’d like to connect. In most vehicles, you can only have one active Bluetooth connection at a time when your vehicle is on. Check your phone’s and vehicle’s “Paired Bluetooth Devices” lists to see which phone is active. The system defaults to the last paired device used in your vehicle. If that device isn’t active, it goes down the list of paired devices until it finds one that is active.

Phone is paired but won’t connect

Check your phone’s and vehicle’s “Paired Bluetooth Devices” lists to ensure that the connection is active. If it is in one of these lists but is not active, simply select the phone or vehicle you’d like to connect. If you are still experiencing issues, you will need to delete and pair again by following the initial pairing instructions.

Phone randomly unpairs

When you pair a phone with a vehicle, it involves a process of exchanging security credentials to allow your vehicle to gain access to it. An encryption key is generated and if the key is lost by either your phone or the vehicle, they may need to be paired with each other again.
